Easy Way to Make White Rice With Bouillon
Not only is rice one of the simplest things to cook, but it also makes a great side dish to just about any food. Many of my go-to quick and easy recipes are something I can serve over or with rice, so I'm no stranger to the various methods that are out there for cooking it!
I thought I knew everything there was to know about rice, until recently when I learned a brilliant "rice hack" that produced some of the best rice I've ever made! This hack is so breathtakingly simple that I am stumped as to how I didn't think of it on my own.
I'm hoping that at least a few of you are in the same boat as I was, because I'll be sharing this life-changing rice discovery with you in today's post!

The Secret To Making The Best Rice
Plain steamed rice has a pretty neutral flavor, which is part of what makes it such a versatile food. When served as a side dish or used as a meal's starchy base, people tend to focus more on adding flavor after the rice has been cooked.
That's what I did too, until I discovered that the secret to making the best tasting rice lies in what you add to it before you've cooked it!
The big secret is cooking rice in chicken broth instead of water. Changing the cooking liquid doesn't affect how the rice cooks, but it does have a huge effect on the flavor! The savory flavors of the stock get infused into the finished rice, making it much more flavorful than rice cooked in plain water. How simple is that?
But chicken broth isn't the only way to punch up the flavor of your rice. You can also use chicken stock, vegetable broth or stock, or any other kind of broth or stock you like. If you don't usually keep broths or stocks on hand, it's easy to whip some up using a bouillon base like Better Than Bouillon.
Just stir a small amount of the concentrated paste or powder into hot water to make flavorful broth whenever you need it! (You can also make your own homemade broth from scratch, which is much easier than it sounds! Learn how to do it at the link below.)
